Wins for Mallorca and Malaga but Osasuna continue dismal start
Real Mallorca secured a 1-0 win at home to Real Sociedad on Saturday night to go top of La Liga.
In a tight contest, Victor's goal with just a quarter of an hour remaining was enough to see off the Basque side.
Earlier in the evening, Malaga belied their crisis-club status to briefly go top of La Liga themselves after grabbing a second win of the season.
Ignacio Camacho's second-half goal was enough for los Boquerones to edge to a 1-0 win at Real Zaragoza and make it seven points from three games for Manuel Pellegrini's side.
It's an impressive effort from a team that has been decimated by player sales in the summer as the once-wealthy club find themselves engulfed by financial difficulties.
Elsewhere, Deportivo La Coruna continued their unbeaten start to the season on their return to the Primera Liga with a 1-1 draw at home to Getafe.
The newly-promoted Galician side took the lead inside six minutes through experienced forward Riki but were soon pegged back by an Abdelaziz Barrada goal.
Celta Vigo picked up their first points of the campaign with a 2-0 victory over Osasuna.
Second-half efforts from Iago Aspas and Mario Bermeio at the Balaidos consigned the visitors to a third straight defeat of the season.
